WordPress Web Hosting - The Beginners Buyer Guide

WordPress Web Hosting: What you need to know

Following on from an earlier post where I discussed information on how to build your own website or blog from scratch, this post is a bit of a follow on from that, dedicated web hosting for your WordPress website or blog.

In this post we will have a look at a website that covers everything you need to know about web hosting. It also covers other important information such as website speed, a comparison guide for web hosting services & web hosting companies that are renowned for WordPress website hosting.

This guide will explain in plain English the different terms used in web design / hosting, which is really important, especially for people who are looking to build their own websites and host them as I know from bitter experience from the early days of my career, that trying to understand technical terms and jargon can be a frustrating and slow process. And that’s why I find this particular guide very informative, it keeps it short and explains everything very well, especially for the new users. And I must admit, reading through this guide I learned a few things myself!

For the new user there is quite a good breakdown of the different types of web hosting such as shared hosting, managed hosting and dedicated hosting, with a good explanation of each of the categories and options available to you. And then of course if you want to skip the reading bit there is a handy little video to explain it all to you. So really this guide is covering for the beginners.

And then this leads to the next section, the comparison guide and rankings for the different web hosting providers, there are 8 in total covered in this guide. Though the author of this guide reviews 8 different web hosting providers, he recommends 2 as being the best of the lot, WP Engine and Siteground both of which I have heard of but have never personally used. I have also seen and read reviews online from other web designers that Siteground seems to be the popular choice right now, though that doesn’t take anything away from WP Engine, it merely seems that Siteground is the place to be in the current trend.

So in conclusion to this guide and especially for those starting out in their web design careers, this guide is something you should read through before you buy any web hosting. The guide rates all of the services reviewed fairly and impartially, which is a plus because making informed decisions could mean winning and losing customers & clients, as slow websites drives people away. And website speed is something that I always advocate to my clients, among other things.

Another excellent feature of this guide is that there are discounts on your web hosting from many of the providers listed, meaning getting up and running just got a little bit easier and a little bit cheaper, so you can use the savings to promote your new website.
